ABOUT HAWTHORNS THERAPY CENTRE
Hawthorns Hypnotherapy is located in a peaceful setting in Walderslade Woods. Your time here will be relaxing and productive and you will be put at ease from the moment you arrive. I operate a one to one appointment system which means no other clients will be at the clinic during your time with me, however, you are welcome to bring a family member or friend along with you if you wish. I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a practitioner of CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) NLP (neuro linguistic programming) and Life Coaching. I use an integrated approach in my work which means I use a combination of these therapies to achieve excellent results. This ensures my clients receive the maximum benefit from their visit/s.
I am a member of the Hypnotherapy Association and I am registered with the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council). Membership of these organisations demonstrates that my training and qualifications have been thoroughly checked and I am duty bound to work within the boundaries they set. WHAT IS HYPNOSIS AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Hypnosis is a completely safe and effective treatment for all kinds of emotional and physical issues. Many people are unsure what hypnosis actually is - it is a state of deep relaxation. In simple terms whilst you are under hypnosis the conscious mind is temporarily allowed to wander bringing the subconscious/unconscious mind to the fore. It is here that your thought and behaviour patterns are set and stored. During hypnosis the therapist communicates directly with your subconscious/unconscious mind allowing negative thought and behaviour patterns to be re-programmed. This will help you to bring about the positive changes you seek. Please note clinical hypnosis bears no resemblance to the stage hypnosis you may have seen on the television and you remain fully in control throughout the session.
Hypnotherapy can be used as an effective treatment for issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, social anxieties, confidence issues, self esteem, public speaking, motivation, job interviews, pain control, childbirth, weight loss, smoking, driving tests and exams to name but a few. Hypnosis also has many other physical benefits such as a decrease in your heart rate, blood pressure and respiratory rate. You will notice a reduction in muscle tension and you will feel less stressed and anxious. Your mind will be clearer, your memory will improve, you will have more energy and you will sleep better. As part of your individual treatment plan I will teach you how to perform self hypnosis which is a very simple and beneficial technique.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION?
I offer a free 20 minute consultation to all potential clients. This allows us to discuss the support you require and the help that I am able to provide. This no obligation chat will enable you to decide if you would like to come and see me. This free consultation is available over the phone, via e-mail, in person at my clinic or on skype.
The first visit will begin with us having a chat about the issues that are troubling you. This will involve me asking you some questions and making some notes. When I have gathered all the necessary information I will create a personal treatment plan for you. This will be explained and agreed with you prior to any treatment taking place. It is at this point that I will advise you how many sessions you are likely to require. This is usually between 1 and 4 sessions. In most cases you will receive some hypnotherapy during this first visit. After the therapy we will spend a little time talking about the session, I may set you some self-help techniques to do at home and then we will agree our next session (If more than one session is needed). Please note that e-mail/telephone support is available between sessions. Further sessions will include an assessment of progress made, the treatment for that session and a plan for any future sessions.
