What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation. When you are under hypnosis the therapist is able to communicate with your unconscious mind. This allows thought and behaviour patterns to be re-programmed. This will enable you to make changes that you want to make in your life.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes, hypnosis is completely safe. Whilst under hypnosis you remain in control and will always be able to respond to situations should the need arise. It is not possible to become locked in a hypnotic state. At Hawthorns, I practice clinical hypnotherapy which bears no resemblence to the stage hypnosis seen on television.
Does hypnotherapy provide any health benefits?
Yes, definitely - Hypnosis has many physical benefits including a decrease in your heart rate, blood pressure and respiratory rate. You will notice a reduction in muscle tension and you will be generally less stressed and anxious. Your mind will be clearer, your memory will improve, you will have more energy and you will sleep better.
All of these benefits increase if deep relaxation is achieved on a regular basis. This can be achieved through self hypnosis which is taught here at the clinic.
Is it possible to benefit from Hypnosis at home?
Yes, self hypnosis is taught here at the clinic and you will be shown how to achieve self-hypnosis at home.
Is it possible to have my Hypnosis session recorded?
Yes, the period under which you are under hypnosis can be recorded on request.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me?
Yes you are very welcome to bring along a friend or family member.
Will hypnosis work for me?
Hypnosis is an extremely powerful therapy. However, to achieve the maximum benefit, client commitment is required along with a genuine desire to make changes in your life.
Will my treatment consist only of hypnotherapy?
No, during the initial consultation I will formulate a treatment plan which is likely to include a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Neuro linguistic programming and hypnotherapy. Life coaching may also be of benefit in some cases.
What is CBT?
This is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which is a therapy designed to improve mental health by challanging and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. You will be taught how to develop personal coping strategies that will enable you to solve your issues.
What is NLP?
Many of us are dissatisfied with certain aspects of our lives, Neuro Linguistic Programming will provide you with a range of tools and techniques to implement effective change and create successful results. When NLP is combined with hypnotherapy, it is an effective method of dealing with issues from the past and will create a clear pathway for the future.
Will my information remain confidential?
Yes we are governed by the Information Commissioners Office and abide by GDPR regulations. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Payment can be made by cash or by credit or debit card.
